Patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) are often admitted to the hospital electively for parenteral therapy or right-sided heart catheterization and urgently for worsening right ventricular failure, life-threatening illnesses such as pneumonia or sepsis, and a variety of other medical problems. Because of the novelty of intravenous (IV) tre-prostinil administration, in this review, we attempt to provide nurses with guidance and information about the overall requirements for safe administration of IV treprostinil.
